It’s Not That Complicated...Or is it not?

There is a Web Site named “Just Facts”. It may be a way for us to separate the Fly Chit from Pepper.

I decided I would give it a go to see if I could get a better understanding of this country’s Immigration Policy (also known as Immigration Chaos).

You know Immigration. It’s one of those subjects the Taking Heads shout at each other about on the nightly news Every Day on Every Show.

My Simplification Plan did not work...

Ø I searched Just Facts for “Immigration”.

Ø I copied the Just Facts-Immigration documentation to a Word File.

Ø I highlighted the entire Word File.

Ø I looked up the Statistics that Word tabulates about every one of its files.

Ø I used Snipping Tool to be able to show My Dear Readers the Volume of Confusion you would be wading through if you actually did read all of the Just Facts Facts.

Ø Here is the link: https://www.justfacts.com/immigration

Ø Here is the Word Stats Recap:

That’s right...352,381 words plus almost that same number of charts and graphs (A slight exaggeration...Or is it?).

The Bottom Line: We have way too much information coming at us. After we read it all ... if we read it all ... when we are done, We Know Nothing...

Would I kid u?

Smartfella

Lagniappe:

Hold on, Fella. Are you overreacting? What if you would just take it slow and read carefully, would you not then be able to know more than Nothing?

OK, let’s try that. Here is Footnote Page 93. How slow would you need to go and how carefully would you need to read to understand this?...

“Page 93:

For the climate change example above we get margin of error = 1/√= 1/√500 = .045 instead of .035 [using a more complex and precise formula]. This simplified formula is called “conservative” became it yields a larger margin of error. You take less risk of being wrong when you say your survey is probably within 4.5% of the truth than if you say it is probably within 3.5%.”

If you want to try and explain this footnote to My Dear Readers so it is easy to understand, give it a go but please limit your explanation to no more than 10,000 words.

1. - Friday Aug 4th sign "" DUH "" explains it all. 2. - I would have a disclaimer at the bottom in small print. 3. - Would Just Facts have a Just Facts for Idiots or a Cliff Notes version for all us Smart Fellas of the world. 4.- I love to fall asleep reading a too wordy fly chit of stuff to unclog my brain. 5.- LASTLY LASTLY -- An editor that followed the logo --- KISS -- Keep it Simple Stupid would help Just Facts have more readers beside The Noticer. b.b

An overview of U.S. immigration policy:
* Family-based immigration allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to sponsor certain family members to come to the U.S.
* Employment-based immigration allows U.S. employers to sponsor workers for permanent residence based on specific job skills.
* Refugee and asylum policy provides protection to people who are fleeing persecution or violence in their home countries.
* Diversity Visa Program allows nationals from countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S. to enter a lottery for a chance at permanent residency.
* Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protects certain young adults brought to the U.S. as children from deportation and grants them work authorization.
* Temporary Protected Status (TPS) provides temporary legal status to nationals of designated countries affected by armed conflict or natural disasters.
* Temporary visas allow people to come to the U.S. for temporary purposes, such as tourism, business, or work.
* Border security and enforcement efforts aim to prevent unauthorized immigration and to remove unauthorized immigrants who are already in the U.S.
* Interior enforcement efforts focus on the removal of unauthorized immigrants from the interior of the country.
* Naturalization allows legal permanent residents (green card holders) to become U.S. citizens.
