There I was standing in line at a checkout counter.
I was bored so I started flipping through one of those Celebrity Adoration
Magazines that are always on display ready to tempt bored shoppers.
You know the magazines I am talking about. They
feature Headlines like, “You won’t
believe what Jennifer and Chuck did on the Red Carpet in plain view of their
shocked but adoring fans”.
Here is what I wish I had seen in that Celebrity
Adoration Magazine...
Ø “I am going to work day and night until I fund a cure for all forms of cancer.”
or
Ø “I believe with all my heart, if you work hard, there is the opportunity to succeed at whatever you truly want to accomplish in life. I want to be the greatest brain surgeon there ever was. This is my goal! This is what I am working toward! I will accomplish this task!”
or
Ø “I pledge to those who have voted for or against me, that I will always do what is right and honest. I will forever be respectful of the people I was elected to serve.”
I did not see any of the above. What I did see was...
“I can't wait until the finale of The Bachelor. Do you know if this season has a happily-ever-after ending?”
