Many of My Dear Readers just figured out where I am heading in with this Blog Posting but they are wrong in their thinking because my thinking is Sillier than what they are thinking I am thinking.
What I am thinking is our becoming the Czech Republic but different. We have already started becoming what I am thinking we going to become. I’m sure many of you are now getting my drift...Or are you?
I say we are evolving, not into the Czech Republic, but into the Check Republic. For more than a year now, the Checks have been flying out of Washington D.C. like bats flowing out of Uncle Mark’s Bat House at dusk going looking for dinner.
You still don’t get my drift? Where have you been?...
- The First Stimulus Checks maxed out at $1,200 per person with an extra $500 per dependent.
- The Second Stimulus Checks capped out at $600 per person, and another $600 per qualifying child dependent.
- If you didn't get a First and Second Stimulus Check or got less than the full amounts, you may be eligible to claim the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit and must file a 2020 tax return even if you don't usually file a tax return.
- The Third Stimulus Checks were $1,400 for an eligible individual and $1,400 for each qualifying dependent.
- With the first checks sent out, the IRS automatically sent Stimulus Checks to many who normally aren’t required to file a tax return – including Older Adults, Social Security and SSDI and SSI Recipients and Railroad Retirees.
- During all of this, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Checks have continued going out. (SSI Recipients were concerned that their Stimulus Checks would be treated as income by the Internal Revenue Service but the IRS reassured them that Stimulus Checks were not to be treated as income.)
- Checks have been sent out to prevent Child Poverty (Child Tax Credits) to about 64 million children.
- There are also $1,000 “Thank You” Payments going to teachers and other school staff in states such as Texas and Florida.
- Soon, California will be issuing another round of Golden State Stimulus Checks, providing $600 (or up to $1,100) for millions of eligible residents.
- We are hearing calls for a Fourth Round of Stimulus Checks in the form of $2,000 extra per month for adults and $1,000 for children.
- The Eviction Moratorium is a form of Reverse Check because people who have mortgages or who pay rent do not have to send in checks for an ever changing period of time.
- The American Rescue Plan passed in March 2021 set aside $21.5 billion for rental assistance. This is in addition to $25 billion allocated to states under December Stimulus Law.
- There are new rules for the Child Tax Credit that give parents the option of receiving the advance monthly checks for extra cash this year or getting one lump sum for up to $3,600 per kid in 2022.
- A Change.org Petition that has collected more than 2.7 million signatures calls on Congress to send out a Fourth Stimulus Check of $2,000 for adults and $1,000 for children on a monthly basis for the Remainder of the Pandemic.
- In late March, a group of lawmakers asked the Administration to include Regular Stimulus Payments in its Next Stimulus Package.
- In May, several members of the House Ways and Means Committee made a similar request.
- There's also money going to certain individuals in the form of "plus-up" payments (whatever that is).
- A weekly $300 Unemployment Bonus was extended to Labor Day.
- Some lawmakers are petitioning for Federal Unemployment Assistance to extend beyond Labor Day.
- Pandemic Unemployment Assistance was also extended to Gig Workers, Freelancers and the Self-Employed.
- Our President has called on Congress to extend the Expanded Child Tax Credit through 2025.
This last one below is not law yet but on July 30, 2021 it was introduced in the House of Representatives to begin the process of possibly becoming the Law of the Land...
The Sending Unconditional Payments to People Overcoming Resistances to Triumph (SUPPORT) Act will create a guaranteed income program of up to $1,200 per month for adults and $600 for kids.
Yes Siree Bob! We Are The Check Republic!

My computer just ran out of Bullet Point Symbols and I’m tired of doing this Blog Posting anyway.
That’s it. That’s all there is. That’s the name of that tune. That’s how the cow eats the cabbage...Or is it?
You may remember Fella can see the future and here is the Future He Is A-Seein...
All of the Manufacturers listed below stepped up to protect us from the ravages of the Pandemic. These people are Heroes! When the Pandemic finally fades into our past these Heroes are going to see a dramatic drop in revenues. When that time comes, we are obligated to send them Checks to allow them to transition into other areas of Manufacturing Stuff...
Ø Plexiglas Manufacturers
Ø Face Mask Manufacturers
Ø Vaccine Manufacturers
Ø Sanitizer Manufacturers
Ø Latex Glove Manufacturers
Ø Face Shield Manufacturers
Ø Vitamin E Manufacturers
Ø Zinc Manufacturers
Ø Vitamin C Manufacturers
Ø “Heroes Work Here” Sign Manufacturers
This list could go on and on but, as I said above, I’m tired.
I sure hope Our Rulers are working on a check for people who are tired.
Would I kid u?

It is entirely possible that we are indeed on the verge of the end of the Republic. When the people can accept government payments when the government is bankrupt because everyone else is doing it, we are at the edge of the Clift.
Examples:
Social Security payments from a broke system because we think we earned it.
Covid Stimulus checks when we don’t need it because everyone else is doing it.
Any number of Tax deductions and credits because it legal.
Regardless of the reason or rationalization on why one thinks he or she deserves the government money, the fact that we are as a group are voting ourselves money from the treasury by electing a “Spend and Spend Congress” that fully understands that everyone in the boat thinks they deserve to be there even thought the boat is in danger of sinking from being overloaded.
“When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.” ― Benjamin Franklin
Notice that old Ben did not include a “Yea, but…..” clause in his statement.
Thanks for a great post on the never ending Checks.
You have laid out the basis of out ever crumbling ledge as we stand on the Cliff looking in the Abyss wondering where all this FREE MONEY is coming from.
Neither the Titanic nor the American Economy had or have enough lifeboats to save everyone.
We have been in a steadily downward spiral for some time. It is amazing that we have lasted this long with the magnitude of stupidity of our elected officials on the federal level. My remarks cannot come close to scratching the surface of our problems. Our elected officials seem incapable of solving any of them without paying out play money regardless of the problem. Sun does't come up? Issue a check. Riots in the street? Issue a check. General population does a general strike? Issue a check. BLM demands it rights? Issue a check. Country is out of money? Issue a check.
