Don’t Cry Plagiarism At The Fella

This is Not Plagiarism because I am not using the words of Retired Senator Alan Simpson I am only quoting his fine and piercing words.

 

As Senator Foghorn Leghorn would say at this point, “It’s a quote, son, it’s a quote! Don’t ya get it?”

 

In Senator Simpson’s excellent eulogy of George H.W. Bush he said, “A few days later he’s getting hammered by the press for some extraordinarily petty bit of trivia”.

 

Do you see the Excellent Piercing Words? ... You got it! They are “Extraordinarily petty bit of trivia”.

 

Need I refresh your memories? I think I need, so I will...

Ø Ronald Reagan was referred to as the Teflon President because nothing stuck to him but (haw haw) ole George was called the Velcro Vice-President because he was stumbling around with all kinds of unpleasant and unwanted things stuck to him.

Ø President Bush was accused of doing great damage to the broccoli growers and their families because he publicly said he hated broccoli.

Ø After President Bush’s death some in the News Media had the gall to resurrect the 1992 story about his being out of touch with the American People because he expressed his amazement at a Price Scanner in a grocery store, even though this story has long ago been debunked as a made up and exaggerated fabrication. (Is it possible Fake News was around way back then?)

Ø They had a field day with President Bush New World Order...
>It imposed too many restrictions on subjugated nations.
>It was vague and its parameters were hard to define.
>It involved a heavy level of funding for military efforts.
> It established the rule of law but did not incorporate humanitarianism.
> It implied too much reluctance toward US intervention in foreign affairs.

Ø President Bush was called a Patrician New England Elite who could not understand Ordinary Americans.

Ø After President Bush’s death some in the News Media actually brought back criticism of his infamous Willie Horton Ad. This ad was not put out by Bush but was the creation of a third-party group.

 

President Bush was very familiar with trivia. He was an extraordinary man and, in their desperate attempts to hurt him, his petty opponents often resorted to trivia to attack him. Thank heaven he could tell Fly Chit from Pepper.

 

If only President Bush could see the nice things that were said about him after he was gone from this life. The ridicule from the ridiculers has been replaced by high praise.

 

Too late, phony people, hopefully he can hear you but also hopefully he is not listening because he has better things to do and your petty is too petty to distract him.
